Interesting discussion on marketing
There is a nice article about Apple and the marketing of the new G5. The author took a closer look at the benchmarks and some Mac users did’nt like that. I think it’s quite normal to deal with all these superlatives in marketing materials. This has nothing to do with Apple. At the beginning of WWDC 2003 Apple released the final version of their web browser Safari. Safari 1.0 has some great improvements and performs very well – even on slow G3 Power Macs.

Quark 6 to support Mac OS X?
Wow! More than 2 years after Apple initially released OS X Quark catches the ball and begins to talk about a new version which will run natively on OS X. I remember their previous releases (3.x and 4.x) and all the bugs – we’ll have to wait until Quark 6.5 is out to get a reliable application. Bluetooth and SONY cameras
If you plan to buy a SONY FX77 Digital Still Camera with Bluetooth support don’t expect that it will work with current Bluetooth capable devices and applications. I had to learn that it uses a Bluetooth profile »BIP« (Basic Imaging Profile) which is supported only by a small number of devices (SONY laptops for example) at the moment.

Recently I found »Youpi Key« for Mac OS X. And I like it very much! You can define certain keystrokes, actions and more and assign shortcuts to them. Now I can start all basic apps I need after login, open a browser and display all the websites I like, start background SSH port-forwarding for remote access and so on with just a few shortcuts ;-)
